Relatable Context & Characters

As we mentioned in Marketing Tip 1, being relatable isn’t just a suggestion - it’s a must. It’s the way we bond with others, share experiences, and find connection. Our marketing needs to mimic those same characteristics.

Within our marketing ads, we need to keep these three aspects top of mind when creating our stories.

Use real world settings that are easy for consumers to imagine.

Show characters who the viewers can identify with and feel connected to; consumers want to see and hear from personas who are just like them.

Create a scenario where consumers can watch your ad and have an ah-ha moment of, “That’s me!” or “That could be me!”
